Story #1
Naked Cannonballer at Bass Pro
At Bass Pro Shop (01/05/24) a man crashed his car outside of the building, stripped naked and somehow got past front door security then cannonballed into the fish tank. He briefly jumped out to yell at police officers trying to apprehend him, eventually slipped and fell to the concrete below, where he was arrested. He was charged with public lewdness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Follow Up Police Story- Drugs are Bad M’Kay?
Story #2
Funeral Home Fiasco
This story comes to us from Denver Colorado (01/11/24). Nearly 200 abandoned dead bodies were found in a struggling funeral home all stacked up and being stored at room temperature. Some relatives of the deceased received fake ashes, likely in the form of concrete powder. The owners are being accused of abusing corpses, stealing, laundering money and forging documents to the tune of over 250 counts each. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t trust the remains of my dead loved one to a funeral home that looks like this…..
Story #3
Coming to us live from the interwebs is a new product for those of you who no longer are interested in heading out to get a manicure. Stick your hand in the box and out comes freshly manicured, painted and dry nails. You can follow the process with an app on your phone for just $599! This is a kickstarter product come to life. I would be super afraid that I would pull out my hand and voila! No more hand. Just me though. Take your chances.
Story #4
Don’t Mess Around with Ebay Unless You Like Bugs
This story comes to us from 2019 and has attracted DOJ charges. The Steiners, a married couple had taken to publishing a Newsletter called Ecommerce Bytes that primarily criticized Ebay’s practices and negatively writing about them in their newsletter. Employees retaliated by stalking them and sending them a box of live spiders and cockroaches, a book about grieving the loss of a spouse and placed a Craigslist Ad inviting people to the couple’s home for sex, amongst other things. Ebay got into trouble, was fined $3M. Charges are ongoing, one guy got sentenced to prison for 57 months. Article from Rolling Stone, good read.
