Today my Rooster’s mom, the woman who raised him, Jessie VanArsdale, left her broken earthly body behind and rejoined her true love in the heavens.
While all those who were lucky enough to have had their lives touched by Jessie are grieving today, she is surely dancing.
This isn’t sad story. This is a story about True Love.
Jessie’s truest love was Doc VanArsdale. They were together for 20+ blissful years. They lived for one another and for their families in sickness and in health until the very day that Doc was called to leave this life.
Doc had a brain aneurysm six years ago, and while he laid in his hospital bed in a coma, Jessie held his hand. She held his hand day and night. And even though Doc was in a coma he rubbed her finger with his thumb within their clasped hands. Even a coma could not block their love from shining through. He rubbed that finger for so long that Jessie developed a sore. But she didn’t let go then, she was determined, fated and driven by their fierce love to hold on.
Sadly Doc never did recover and Jessie lost him. When that sore started healing she panicked and felt that she would forever lose the memory of their final days together.
Until one day, just before it healed, she had an idea.
Jessie had a heart tattooed right in the same spot that the sore once lived. It was the only tattoo she had, and it lived on in brilliant purple, the favorite color they shared, until when she was lucky enough to rejoin him.
We are all sad today, but we also rejoice knowing that Jessie is whole again and has been reunited with her soul mate. The bells are ringing in heaven today. Rest in Peace Jessie. Thank you for all you did for the many lives you touched.
I am honored and humbled to have had her touch my life. I am immensely happy to have learned this story this week and allow her memory to live on by sharing it with you.
True love never dies.
Beautiful story! Thank you for sharing.
The memories you hold of the ones around us are immeasurable. While our bodies may leave this world, in thought one lives on. Loves and hugs💕
that’s was beautiful 💜
Thank you Joy for sharing my moms story. I’m so grateful that Dr. Van came into our lives. He unconditionally loved us both and showed me what real love was like. He taught me all the important lessons a father is supposed teach their daughters. My mom has been lost since his passing. I know he has been on stand by waiting for her. They let me know that they are together again. The only thing that gives me peace is I know that my mom is free from the broken body that has held her prisoner for so long and that My dad was waiting for her.
Goodbye Aunt Jessie.
You made my dear Uncle Leon’s life happy and took away his loneliness. 🥰❤🙏 Rest in Peace
