I just love going on vacation. I bet you do too. Who doesn’t? Right?
There’s more to it than just packing your bag and leaving though. Who is going to feed the pets (auto feeder/cat food everywhere)? Who will water the garden and all the plants (auto sprinkler timer, expensive #homedepot)? Is the house clean? Is the laundry done? Have you been working non stop for three weeks so that everything is ready?
Let it go, I tell myself. Let it go.
Which is very easy to say, since I have solved and finished each of the above challenges. I am really trying to make it a goal to stop worrying about everything so much and get out of my own head.
But I digress. Tomorrow morning, we’re off to the Redwood Motorcycle Run. Wooooo! How can we go wrong? Beautiful weather, impressive scenery, trustworthy friends to ride with. I can’t wait. Minimalist motorcycle camping with strangers. Crazy unknown concerts, questionable food, vendors hawking wares that I cannot wait to buy, and yet I don’t know how we’ll get them home. Thank the good lord for USPS.
I hope to see the black sand beaches just an hour away. And I hope to visit confusion hills, ride through a tree, see the splendor of San Francisco, and maybe this time visit Alcatraz. I am more than excited.
We are riding into northern California tomorrow, and it’s just a few hours the next day to the rally, via the (I’m certain) gorgeous Redwoods (certain that they are gorgeous, and certain we are taking that route) . We have talked about going on this trip for several years. Then the sun, the surf, the camping, the bands, and the intense rally party and debauchery will start. I hope we’re up for it…..
Who am I kidding. We are always up for it.
Vacation is for fun and adventure. Vacation is for you to let go of everything at home. Let go of work, let go of the house, let go of all the dumb drama and nonsensical life you normally lead.
And for those of you in the know, this is NOT a Working Vacation. LOL. YAY!
First I plan on getting there safe. But after that, I plan on getting a little crazy. I plan on doing things I don’t normally do, except at motorcycle rallies. And some of you know all about that (wink). I plan on coming home refreshed and happy. But the most important part, is that we are going on an adventure. An adventure we’ve never had. Wooooooo!
It’s true what they say. You work hard, you play hard, and that’s how you make a great life. Well, I’m banking on it being true, because that’s what we do, and I haven’t been proven wrong yet. It’s worth it, every single time.
Today’s moral is that sometimes you need a placeholder on your blog, so that people don’t forget about you. I hope you tolerated my horrible going on vacation post in a most comfortable way.
Also, have some fun. I don’t really know what “The Goal” or “The Moral” of life is, but I really think it’s about balance, and it’s about love and it’s about doing no harm. So do no harm. Have all the fun. Enjoy your time on earth. You never know when it might end.
Photos and a real vacation blog to follow. Ciao for now. Love to you all.
PS. I think my google plan is working, I had 7 spam comments. Nothing to brag about, but they’re coming from somewhere outside my facebook link.
